Eridge Horse Trials has been run for 24 years now with kind permission of the Marquess of  Abergavenny. A top venue in the 1960’s and 1970’s, the last major event was the junior European Championships in 1972. The three day events were a considerable feat of organisation. In 1994 South Eastern Equestrian services came forward and affiliated events returned that year.

Eridge has well built courses run over undulating parkland. The BE90, BE100, Novice and Intermediate courses are bold and inviting with alternatives on difficult fences. The going is good when hard as it is run on old parkland turf. The water is now jumped in the opposite direction making it more inviting. The whole ground will be aerovated if hard for all three phases.

Exciting times ahead having moved to the front of the park with the new attractions of The Country Market, Dog Show,  Fun Dogs  and Terrier racing. The Cross Country course is in the same area of the park with access from the new main site.

This event offers a great day out in a marvellous setting of historic parkland with the whole of the cross country course in view from in front of the main house.

It is with a heavy heart that we have to anounce that Eridge Horse Trials and Country Market including Dog's in the Park and Car's in the Park is to be cancelled this year. Many factors have combined to make the situation untenable, including clashing with other BE eventst just before, during and after, the loss of a sponsor, and despite an heroic last minute push for entries we simply haven't met the target required to run this event. We hope you understand that we are financially unable to run at a loss.

Many People have tried so hard to make the event happen and whilst we are grateful for the effort and untold kindnesses the gamble is just too great.

Massive apologies to all those effected and huge thanks to all those that strived so hard to help.

we will be back next year with renewed vigor!
