Eridge Horse Trials has been run for over 17 years with kind permission of the Marquess of Abergavenny. A top venue in the 1960’s and 1970’s, the last major event was the junior European Championships in 1972. The three day events were a considerable feat of organisation. In 1994 South Eastern Equestrian services came forward and affiliated events returned that year.
Eridge has well built courses run over undulating parkland. The BE90, BE100, Novice and Intermediate courses are bold and inviting with alternatives on difficult fences. The going is good when hard as it is run on old parkland turf. The water is now jumped in the opposite direction making it more inviting. The whole ground will be aerovated if hard for all three phases.
With all marquees, tradestands and catering facilities laid on around the show jumping area. This event offers a great day out in a marvellous setting of historic parkland with the whole of the cross country course in view from in front of the main house.
